Harris Consulting specialises in providing dispute resolution services and advice to the full spectrum of construction industry clients. Members of our staff are contract dispute experts who hold additional legal and/or arbitration qualifications. Sometimes disputes are unavoidable. Where relevant we work closely with clients’ in-house teams and legal advisers to develop focused strategies; using authoritative and proven analytical skills, we detail and progress clients' cases to achieve success, including where possible early settlement. We recognise the need to be proportionate at all stages of dispute resolution.

Recent Work

Working for a major Mechanical Electrical sub-contractor on a landmark public building Harris Consulting has managed a team of surveyors and delay analysts in respect of claims valued at £3.0m in addition to defending a counterclaim valued at £7.25m. Devising and implementing appropriate strategies Harris Consulting was instrumental in achieving overwhelming success in 7 of 9 adjudications. 2 mediations led to a very satisfactory settlement to Harris Consulting's client where the contractor's claims were completely nullified.
Advised a major contractor on M&E disputes arising from a £40m hotel project in central London.
Defended multi-million pound claims for a local authority arising on five separate design and build contracts. Harris Consulting successfully managed these disputes and settled all claims on terms favourable to our client.
Prepared a defence for a major public utility client to a £1.7m claim referred to adjudication under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act (1996). We successfully led a team of surveyors and other contract specialists, which resulted in the parties settling in favourable terms well ahead of the date for the decision.
