Harris Consulting liaises with its clients and their lawyers to create a cohesive team to investigate and prepare a case that has been referred to arbitration or litigation.

We are experienced at briefing and taking instructions from client’s solicitors and their counsel, including leading counsel, on all quantum related matters.

Harris Consulting’s extensive experience of all stages of the arbitration process has been supplemented by training and further education of a number of its consultants leading to recognised qualifications in this specialised field.

Recent Work

Assisted a council’s legal team in drafting appropriate pleadings; prepared Scott Schedules and defence to claims; compiled requests for further and better particulars; assisted in the preparation of without prejudice settlement offers; interviewed witnesses relating to quantum issues; inspected documents and briefed leading counsel on all matters relating to quantum. Following settlement the legal team considered the result to be an outstanding success for our mutual client.
Engaged as quantum expert to a local authority on a dispute relating to extensions of time and loss and/or expense arising out of a London housing refurbishment project.
Harris Consulting defended a substantial claim against a housing association from a main contractor who was engaged to install central heating to 5,000 homes. Appointed as Quantum Expert, Harris Consulting’s team produced an analysis of the merits of the Client’s case that led to settlement being achieved in mediation that was less than 15 per cent of the sum claimed.
